Family, Friends and Neighbors Program

Printer-friendly version

On July 15, 2016, DEL filed a preproposal statement of inquiry anticipating the creation of a Family, Friends and Neighbors (FFN) Program WAC chapter. The Child Care and Development Block Grant Act (S.1086) require changes to the FFN program. Program participants will be required to comply with background check, monitoring, health and safety training and other requirements as determined by the agency. Pertinent sections of WAC 170-290 may be moved to the new WAC chapter, and revisions may be necessary for WAC 170-06 and other chapters for consistency. Those issues will be determined at a later date. This rulemaking will promote the health and safety of children and keep the agency in compliance with federal requirements. DEL may file proposed rules on these subjects after consideration of input received as a result of the Preproposal Statement of Inquiry.
