Several choices for early childhood education, care, and assistance are not overseen by the Department of Early Learning (DEL). For example, the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) offers many programs for parents affected by temporary situations such as loss of a job, and local school districts provide free preschool services for children with developmental delays.
