Printer-friendly version

In July 2017, Governor Inslee created a proviso to establish a child care workforce development technical workgroup, called the Compensation Workgroup, to develop recommendations for the Legislature.  The Compensation Workgroup legislative report will cover topics including how to:

  • Increase child care workforce wages
  • Reduce turnover
  • Enable child care providers to recruit more qualified educators
  • Maintain the diversity of the current workforce

The Compensation Workgroup will be led by the Department of Early Learning and will include thirteen representatives from both state agencies and the early learning community.
