Head Start State Collaboration Office

Head Start is a federal program that provides comprehensive education, health, nutrition and parent involvement services to low-income children from birth to age 5 and their families.

The Head Start State Collaboration Office (HSSCO) at DEL helps develop partnerships that benefit children from low-income families by:

  • Helping strengthen Washington’s early learning system.
  • Expanding access to services and support for all low-income children.
  • Supporting collaboration between Head Start and other programs, services and initiatives.
  • Increasing Head Start’s involvement in state-level planning and decision-making.
