Data Management System Replacement Project

Washington’s Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) program is replacing its Data Management System (DMS) with a new system to improve usability and reporting capabilities. The 11-month project (November 2010 - September 2011) is made possible by one-time American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds (federal economic stimulus dollars). This funding opportunity allows ESIT to significantly improve and modernize the Data Management System. The DMS Replacement Project and the System Improvement Project are jointly working to to significantly improve how Washington meets the needs of families with very young children with delays or disabilities.

ESIT is required by the federal government to collect information about kids, families and resources in the early intervention system. A modern and robust reporting data system helps ensure this information is secure and accurate. A new system also benefits families because local early intervention staff will have a faster, more reliable system, allowing them to spend more time with families and less on data entry.
